Default Orkney soilder palmer

Go easy folks only started tying last week, I'm trying to teach myself as I go.

hook - b175
hackle - orange hen ( head and body)
body - scarlet seals fur
rib - gold oval

I am assuming you got the pattern from last month's T&S. The hen hackles should be ginger.

yes I did, and it said in the mag they should be ginger, but they looked more orange and after talking to a guy from Orkney in my local tackle shop he assured me that they should be orange

Hi JRHartly,

Decent effort for a total beginner and it will catch fish but I assure you the hackle should be ginger.

cheers for that mate ill re-tie some with the correct hackle,

hopefully that will keep troutheaven happy
