Thought you might like this one.

body= black thread
over body= clear material called 'semtex'
throat=hot orange dubbing
wings=white goose biots
hackle= black chinese cock

This pattern has worked well last season on the loughs.

Hello Bruce,
yes its a material I bought of ebay.Its clear but whatever thread you use under the body it shows thought it.
Really nice stuff and will make the body strong.

I like using goose biots for the wings as its much stronger than the 'hackle tips' as normally used on this pattern.

Does that Semtex stuff stretch well ??? In other words can you stretch it to make it thinner ??

Have you got a link to where you got it from please as I have something in mind and that might be just the job

Yes you can stretch it.Just heat it up with your hands and it does stretch.
I bought it a while back.I will try and see if i can see it listed.

Nice fly. I've been tying up some duck flies up myself tonight after seeing some great examples on the forum - but how do you fish them???

I'm guessing slow fig 8 like a nymph/buzzer but I've also tied some up with quite a heavy head hackle and I'm thinking it might work well pulled through a wave??

Any thoughts
