Hook Colour

I just noticed today that some of my bought flies, which are mainly fulling mill seem to be tied on shiney silver hooks (in particular their really skinny straight buzzers - bardens black buzzer), and most of the others are on slightly darker coloured shiney hooks, whereas the ones I have tied myself are on Kamasan hooks which are much darker and less shiney in colour.

I was wondering how much difference this makes ? I can see it making quite a difference on flies which have a lot of the bare hook showing as the shiney silver colour must reflect a lot of light. Any thoughts ?

As you say silver hooks might add a wee touch of flash.
I have hooks of many colours, silver being a fav' with red, gold, black and green lurking somewhere.
The CJ hooks that are bright red, look good for bloodworm patterns especially.
