Default Spider offering

Hi Guys

Ive a real soft spot for the leven spider i was amazed just how deadly such flies could be

To this end ive been playing with alternative soft hackle spider type fly .........came up with this last night i really like it hope the fish do

Hook: B175 size 12 (barb crushed) .........its the law

Hackle: Rook

Thread: Uni-fire orange

Rib: French oval gold

Body: Black pheasnt tail fibres x 3

Tail: Uni- floss LT. orange (looks peach to me ?) x3

Nice colouring...would work on the Irish loughs as a middle dropper or point fly.

If its the law to crush barbs, why have the manufacturers not crushed them before sale.

i would think he means local fishery rules etc
