Default Help clamping hook in apex

So ok my new anvil apex just arrived this afternoon and after setting it up and clamping it to my desk I started to clamp a hook into it but discovered the jaws were t tight so discovered that the **** adjusts jaw width but now can't work out how to decide how wide the jaw should be un tightened?

Thanks

Just adjust the vice jaws so they tighten up nicely on the hook you are using. It's two way - can't go wrong really.

I only open up the adjustment on mine for SWFF hooks.

P.S. Good choice of vice.

Hi

Every hook is different so i am always adjusting the rear screw on mine. For example if i am using a size 10 wet fly hook, I will tighten the jaws so they are just touching the hook shank then fully tighten up with the lever.

If I am using a salt water hook i will use the same procedure as above but place the hook in the grooves on the jaws.

Hope this answers your question.

Cheers

Alan
