Default A couple of spiders

I got some goodies through the post today after reading this thread. So a special thanks to Ribbleman and Sabalos for pointing me in the direction of the gossamer section of Pearsalls embroidery. The "Traditional Gossamer Shades" section had shade 11 which was once upon a time called "golden olive", now called golden yellow. It was my favourite shade for Greenwells, whether spider, wet or dry. So here's a comparison..

Primrose body(lumpy), light furnace (greenwells) hackle and a dodgy head.

Golden olive body, dark furnace (almost coch-y-bondhu) hackle.

To keep NCA happy, they're tied on bronzed hooks. To keep SP happy they're 1960s Partridge down eye fine wire wet hooks.

Shade 11, get it, love it.

I'm sure the above is probably a pointless load of tripe but I'm just dead chuffed that shade 11 is back in production.
