Default capes or saddles

I was thinking of buying some real good quality feathers, could someone tell me what would be better a cape or a saddle if it helps I normally don't tie any bigger than a 10 or smaller than a 16

Depends on what type of fly's you are tying but I would say a good quality neck/cape that has a good range of feather sizes should do you good.

PM to ruthvenflyfisher (artifly), tell him roughly what you are looking for and what budget you have. He put me a package together for tying wets and I was delighted with the value. It was in the post before I'd paid for it and arrived the next day.

I have capes and saddles but think the saddles are better, there is shedloads of feather on a saddle.
