Default Marabou fibre bodies

I have some peach marabou I impulse bought cheaply while rifling through the leftovers in the fly tying box of a shop which doesn't sell fly tying materials any more. I thought I would have a go at tying some lures with it:

I quite liked the way that it works as a body material, so I tried knocking up these:

And a couple of daddies:

Fun, but will they fish OK or is there a reason marabou doesn't seem to be used for dry bodies?

steve , i think you will find it would absorb a lot of water without blathering it with floatant making it sink ??

That's what I wondered - could be quite absorbent.

That's a good idea. Tied on a heavy hook, hackled with cock and ribbed with silk floss, it is pretty easy to drown in a glass of water. Ginked up, it sits like an emerger. I think the daddies should work ginked up, and the fly with the CDC wing should be OK too.
