If you tie your own and feel confident you try and tie up some of these.

I have had good success tying badger hackles on size 12 and 14 hooks.

A White Hackled Invicta has worked well for me during a caenis invasion, so has a wee Loch Ordie.

IMO I would go for wet flies rather than dries, even though it can still be a hit or miss that is why they are the curse.
One of the patterns that I catch on is a Hutch's pennell.

Default Cheers all

Great response and quality help, cheers guys. Will have a bash at the caenis time pattern but not been tyin too long, think i might pull it off though. Like the badger hackle idea too. Jim your a man after my own heart i find the muddler (usually a size 14 orange one for some reason) the most reliable in this situation. My next step on the tying journey is to learn deer hair application so i can tie my own, I fish Frandy quite a bit and the orange muddler is a magnet up there, but i cant tie em yet
Thanks again to all that replied. Most appreciated.
Scotty
