Default Claret & Hares Ear Snatcher

Here's a few pics of a snatcher I tied tonight. To be honest there's no real master plan behind the dressing, but it's got hares ear and claret in it so it's got to work, surely

Very smart fly WF, sure to catch. Could someone tell me why they are called snatchers ? is it bcause of the hot spot cheeks ?

Thanks for all the comments lads.

Falsecast - I have no idea where the term originated from. If I was been cynical I would say it's the fly tying houses attempts to breath life (and sales) into the old traditional patterns
