Default I won third Prize!

Keep your Caribbean cruises. I've just realised I've won third prize in the TFF, Essential Fly, Fly-Tying Masters II competition for March.

Not the biggest prize in sport but for a newbie like me with only a few months experience and my first entry I'm chuffed. The prize of a Clearview fly box will offset some of the money I've spent on feathers and thread.

Nymph, mini-lure? Apparently it's a plethora of food items.

The wing is made from the tips of the eye feathers, tied in tips-forwards then splayed back and trapped under the head thread. I tried stripping a few Peacock eye-herls to tie in as a tag in place of the Glo-Brite (this month's compulsory ingredient was Peacock) but I couldn't manage it without snapping them and I suspect it would have removed the bit the Trout like best anyway.

Thanks for the kind words guys.
