Default Feed the Wolf!

Been tying a lot of big, brashy Pike flies recently and thought I'd go back to what I like to tie the most - natural Perch imitations.

This one is tied on a Tiemco SP 2/0 and is constructed from Llama and EP fibres with a little bit of flash.

Lovely tie - except small Perch are very much paler !

Cheers fellas.

Here's a couple more I knocked up last night....

This Perch has a much more pronounced head although you can't really see it from the photo and I've made the gills much more pronounced also...

Nice one Dougie, i've just started messing around with EP fibers and these sort of patterns, fancy a bash a swff and fly fishing for predators too.

Dougie,

excellent ties!!!! I love the addition of llama, and I'm kicking myself for not thinking of it. Do you add any weight to the shank before tying? I've noticed with a few of mine they almost float (due to the great water shedding ability of the EP fibers)......I intend to try this on my next batch. Here is one of mine in a dish of water
