Default Church Windows

Having been given and old tying kit with some feathers i never used and with help from forum members identifying them i came across this one.

I have been told its from a cock pheasant and known as a church window to do with the unusual pattern in them, like i say i never knew of them but i wish i did, well now i know them i will be tying flies i never would have before. They would be good in bumbles and spider patterns and im sure plenty of others.Dyed different colours they would be a great head hackle. Here is a couple i tied with the feather.

It is a good hackle to use on reversed bumbles and shrimper patterns ,and i sometimes use it as a head hackle on a green peter

Natural feather side by side and overlapping slightly.
