Default Found loads of little black balls in my fly tying materials??

Hi all,

Bit worried as i've found a shed load of little tiny black balls in my tying kit. I had this once before in my river box and i believe i had an infestation that had destroyed all the feather & fur materials in the box. I was left with just bare hooks in some instances.

I'm worried that this infestation is now in my fly tying kit and slowly destroying it???

Has anyone else ever had this?? Is there anything i can do??

Thanks

If you are worried bung the whol lot into the freezer for at least 36 hours. It will kill all eggs if that is what they are

Just a thought.....

Before you zap them in the mic, why not keep a few feathers+"eggs" back, in a secure jar and wait and see if anything hatches out? That way you'd find out what has got in to your kit.

Sounds like Clothes moths, the little beggars got into one of my fly boxes and ate all the dressings. The damage is caused by the larvae and the little black balls are their dung. The eggs are tiny and barely visible.

Exterminate !!!
