Default Feather??

Was having a rummage through some old stuff i was given and found this feather, just wondering has anyone any ideas on what is and possibly what its used for.

Turkey coquille, dyed red ones are used as a substitute for Ibis for the tail on butchers, you could use it for wings on say muddlers or hoppers.

Its a breast feather from a standard bronze christmas dinner turkey, the domestic version of the wild turkey.

Well if these were on turkey i ate at Christmas ill tell the butcher to leave the plucking to me.

well,you have better customs there(you can pick some usufull feathers even on Christmas)....we eat lamb for Christmas
