It depends what you want them for, I love the Whiting Brahma hen as a partridge substitute and for crunchers, but I use the larger breast patches for salmon hackles. If you want something with a different colour try the Whiting black laced hen dyed in bright colours, Very pretty.

You know, I had the same thought a while ago and phoned Steve at Cookshill. He actually persuaded me to have some cheaper capes that were first class.

Well worth a call if you tell him what you are using them for he will give you good advice, even if it means selling you something cheaper.
