Default Dave Downie Marabou

Ok all, is it worth the money?

I have heard a number of times that it is but want your opinions.

Also, where is the cheapest/most reliable place to get it from?

Thanks for the help.

and good colours.
Saying that it really depends whats on the go,if you cant get good
raw materials you cant supply good dyed stuff.

Default I thinks so

C.F.....look at it this way, you invested money in rods, reels, lines, day tickets, flurocarbon etc.....to spend a few pence more to get the best quality hooks and materials available is a must as far as i'm concerned...it's the most important part isn't it ?

I can make do with cheap rods, reels; nets, boxes etc....but a good quality hook and leader material is a must for me..

I like Davies stuff...a lot; so think it's worth the money.

My Materials come from the following people..

Bill McIlroy (Pearly Dabbler)
Celtic Fly Craft

Davie downie...but only now and then....just because the others are easier to source....and I'm mates with Bill

Fair point Roberto but you are a tying tart!!!

Gonna invest in a bulk lot to last me the season. Concerned that my flys might get passed around a fair bit more this year so want to make sure they will be as good as poss' for the lads........and me!!!

Daves marabou is worth every penny, i've used it for years and never been dissapointed, every plume is dyed to the stalk and every bit is useable, there is pretty much no waste, I get mine from Angus Angling / andersonangling on this forum and i'm sure he can help you out. The way i see it is why spend £1.50 less per bag on cheap stuff and bin half of it.

Regards

Aaron

Phil, Dave's marabou is very good and especially in black and white, the difference is marked compared with say, Veniards. I haven't really tried many other types since I started using Dave's.

Also very long plumes so great for those mega humi things you seem to like

If he is on here, may I ask what his username is?

I wouldnt mind ordering some of his marabou but am too lazy to go through the rigamarol of putting in all my details and paying online when I might be able to get away with paying via PayPal
