Default Rubbish picture of a daddy long legs

Very new to this fly tying mullarky. What I'm amazed at is it seems limitless in the materials that can be used to over come problems.

Now I know the picture is really poor Iphone cameras are pants, but I hope you guy's N gal's get the jist.
I made this Daddy long legs just now out of a bit of brown foam for the body.
The wings are made from the plastic sleeves that come from the filters I pop in my rollies. The legs are made from bristles I cut off some paint brushes I had kicking about.I know it can be improved upon but it's alot of fun tying and talking with like minded people.

Sorry for the poor picture.

You may need to throw a bit of light on the subject.

Hi Sean,In fairness you have made a very ok job of the fly albeit with some strange material choices .I have made a few attempts at tying over the last 2 years and find it fills in the evenings at this time of the year.I tried to brighten up your pic a little hope you dont mind,
Corky

You're being a bit shy Sean matey - looks like a good (?) first stab to me but what do I know?

I reckon that the guys on here are top notch in the fly tying dept in terms of balancing fly tying cudos and actually fishing the blooby things (Buzz where are you?).

Crane flies are late summer / autumn flies aren't they? What do the folks think?

I would like to think I could post a fly in a section called 'critics corner' and see how people feel regards what has been posted in terms of aesthetics, fish-ability and any other more scientific subject that is relevant?

If not .. then who wants an arm wrestle?

Ah GBT - they look a little different!

We will meet for an arm wrestle but go easy on the lovely people of the forum (unless they request otherwise ).

That's more than a fair attempt at a cranefly Sean. That's one of the great things about fly dressing, you can see the dressing in a book and you can substitute, within reason, any of the parts and still create something that will catch.

I'd happily have that on my cast
