Default Curing Cabin Feaver - Easy River Flies

I have a bad dose of cabin fever brought by the close season, a dose of flu and bad weather. The cure I am sure must be fly tying ......... so whilst I still have a domestic governance issue to deal with, I am taking the plunge.

I have had a brief PM chat with Grommit and I failed my first exam question. He has asked me to give him 6 - 8 'easy' flies I would want to start with. Now as an almost exclusive small stream fisherman I am struggling beyond:

Hares Ear
PTN
CDC & Elks (Thanks Steve101)

All the rest I can think of are mayflies, emergers, para's, shuttle's ........... which Ian has said will probably baffle me in my early fumblings.

Please give me some help and apologies for starting yet another newbie thread.

F-flies - couldn't be easier. I was amazed as well how easy cdc & elks are to tie. I'm pretty clumsy but was tying rough (but fishable I reckon) copies of these within a couple of days.

I arent going to show myself up by putting pics of me flees up on here when there sre so many damn fine tiers on here but I do tie an awful lot of this easy pattern and find they very very effective. I use a stripped peacock herl body ... or sometimes just contrasting threads..
