Default Anyone remember RORY ??????

Does anyone remember, or still use a fly called an Orange Rory?

I used to fish one regularly on my local resevoirs about 15-20 years ago.

A wet fly that was black & orange and very simple to tye but very very effective.

Im trying to get the exact tying for it, but cant find it anywhere on the internet.

Cheers

Rory's gone...
To play the blues in heaven.
Above the clouds,
With all the angels singing there.
His records scratched,
Like his beaten-up old Fender,
But the songs are strong,
And the notes hang in the air.

Stop hijacking my thread you lot .

This is the fly tying section, NOT top of the pops

I had my money on Scratch knowing the dressing But alas

Too busy listening to pop music

Looks like im gonna have to rely on the extensive memory of Midlander or Troutheaven.

OO what about an Orange Roughy
Description

The Orange Roughy Fly Pattern is tied on TMC, Mustad, Saber, Daiichi, Tiemco, or Orvis hooks in sizes 1-7 using Red 6/0 pre waxed thread. This fly pattern is tied with a tail of golden pheasant breast feather, a body of yellow/orange goat dubbing, a wing of dyed black polar bear hair, and cheeks tied from jungle cock eyes.
