Default Micro Spiders

I ordered a load of Sheer 14/0 threads from a company troutflies.co.uk as they were the only place i could find that sold it in purple .It turned out that it was a mistake & they don't sell it in purple either. So i asked them to send something similar as long as it's very thin as it was for small size 20 & below flies. They only went & sent me 6/0 purple Cobweb thread.Does anyone know anywhere selling a nice purple 10/0 or 12/0 thread. I also notice that the sheer 14/0 brown thread doesn't look that much like Pearsall's brown either hopefully the trout won't mind too much. Cheers

You can also untwist some Pearsall's and use a smaller thread.

Rab,

Sorry to say but Sheer 14/0 is not made in purple.

The only thread that comes in purple (apart from Pearsalls) is UNI thread 8/0 - this is 72 denier so it is still very fine - I use it for tying my micro version of the snipe & purple - down to size 24.

The only downside is that it is a bonded thread so it is tricky to get it to flatten - not the end of the World.

Kind regards
