Default Recommend good hook for mayfly?

Its nearly that time of year again - well, not really, but I'm looking forward to it and starting to think about what materials I need to replenish.

Anyone have any recommendations for a good mayfly hook and where to get them? At least 2x long, and ideally normal gauge or at most 1x fine wire to make a bushy upwing tie sit properly?

I would opt for a Kmasan B800 size 12. It is good for fan wings. Now a B175 is fine for hackled mayflies. I fish on Loughs. I would use raffia for the bodies and put on a partial hackle. Have a wee look at Malone's book "Irish Trout and Salmon Flies" Lot of advice there. Am awaiting Patsy Deery's book. Probably good advice there. Also Steve Parton sells good hooks and long shanks as well. Prices very reasonable and they are in Stock.
Good luck

I'm by no means an expert, so get a second opinion on my ideas, but I've seen some very interesting mayfly ties where the hook is small (16) and the body is represented off the shank, with only the thorax and hackle being tied onto the hook.

Interesting patterns..

Forgot to say, they are tied on wider gape grub style hooks, like the Grips, or some of the Tiemcos
