If you really need to know, then maybe track down a laboratory to analyse the material for you.

Indeed it would be no problem for a competent lab to get the fibre ID for this through a series of simple tests. (I've got them listed in my old university books in the loft, and somewhere in my brain, but don't ask me to remember them! - why is it important tho, you looking for a cheaper subs by any chance Jay?)

Just to note I looked at these last month after seeing Paul Procter using the superfine. I went for the superfine pack #1. glad I did after seeing the Masterclass cube in my local tackle shop - its
tiny, really small. don't know the relative weights, but I reckon yo could buy both superfine colour packs (#1 & #2), have some spare change and end up with double the dubbing. I have found the superfine to be exactly what it says on the tin - you can go down to v small hook sizes no problem with this. for larger flies I'm using Seals Fur. (Got mine in the 1970's before SLF was about).
