Today I have been on the klink's.
So after I had done the house work My other half and the kid's went down her mum's, I put some pink floyd on and got at the vice

I think I have every song pink floyd ever did eaven some rare one's. I do like there war of the worlds album.

Very skillful tyings. Just a thought, the copper ribs look a bit heavy. Will they affect floatability?
A mate of mine will only rib his dries with thread, never wire.
His logic is 'why add weight to a dry fly?'
I never could answer that.

OK so Klinks aren't dries, but with too much weight on the abdomen they might not sit right.

Time for a drink.

OK so Klinks aren't dries, but with too much weight on the abdomen they might not sit right.

Personally, I think it really helps if you can hit that balance which causes the abdomen to sink, but the fly to float. I've had problems in the past where the dressing of the abdomen has been so light that it lies flat on the surface instead of hanging off the surface tension like the natural.

Having said that, with the angle of the hackle on klinks, the abdomen is generally going to sit correctly.

To tell the truth it never crossed my mind when tying them and then Graham said about

hitting that balance

I had to find out how they sat

Got up today and had a test in the good old jug to see if it was sink or swim lol
here are the results.




The real test will be on moving water as soon as the river drop's
