Very nice Dave, I have similar double tungys. How are you finding the 2120 hooks?

Great hooks. This year will be the real test though as I have gone to 2/3 of my nymph patterns tied on them.

Cheers,

Very nice Dave. Using two of your favourites, Hends and Spectrablend.

Rather you than me.
I binned mine, too many fish lost at the net.

I'm yet to lose a fish down to this hook... well to my knowledge anyway.

You just hate Varivas Buzz... just off to tie on a 2200BL

In all seriousness, and without trying open the proverbial can, I really haven't had the same problems with these hooks. Infact, I really like them

I knew you were going to pull me up on that!

Seriously PP did an article a while back in FF&FT. He did a wee HE nymph with a pink Tungsten head on that hook. I ran out and bought a packet of size 16s and copied the fly.
That weekend i lost three Grayling at the net on that stpid hook, something i dont do.
It was that bloody 2120 WB hook.

For the record my favorite hook (if you can ave a favorite hook) is a VARIVAS IWI S 2000 Standard Dry fly. Its shape is tolerable but OMG its hooking capabilities are really outstanding and for a fine wire hook its mighty mighty strong.

Its all about confidence anyway....

You are correct: confidence is the key and I have hooks that I don't trust too... In fact, even if the shape of a hook is perfect for a specific pattern, if I don't like it, I cannot use it. I'm a bit picky like that I guess - if there something adrift with the tying, it also won't get used.

Praise indeed

Each to their own... it would be a dull place if we all liked the same stuff...

Mark if you used the correct rods for your river fishing instead of the stiff ones you use at the moment you might not bump so many

Dave/Mark you right its all about confidance in your gear including hooks
