Default 50 slots for early year small stillwaters

Will be putting together a small box of flies for flytyingbee for her first trips to small stillwaters since wanting to take up the sport.

Looking for recommendations for patterns , only really want maybe 6-8 patterns to cover the rest of winter/spring so she gets decent practice tying too.

I suppose a buzzer has to be in there, was looking at a PTN as a general suggestive nypmh or GRHE, what would your recommendations be for thi period, and why, to help with both our knowledge?

Thanks in advance. Imitative/sggestive please rathr than lures/blobs/ etc

The reason for the title i have a small fly box with 50 slots in it to kickstart her tackle collection (which currently consists of a fly box with 50 slots )

If theres one fly that i wouldnt be without for early season work its a black and green viva. Also very easy to tie.Another would have to be a humungious.Always works for the fry feeders.

I would add

Montana Nymph,
Pheasant tail nymph
Cats Whisker
Orange Dancer
Invicta
Black Buzzer
Daiwl Bach
Black Gnat Dry
Adams Dry

With a couple of sizes of each of those i'd take on any small stillwater

Cheers
