Default A few dries

Well, not real dries, for chalk streams, but great big chunky ones for Chew.

I don't tie many dries (I know you can tell) but thought I'd add a few to my box for those distant summer evening rises. The area I struggle with is just behind the hackle, I get a gap between the 'wing' and the hackle which looks rubbish and can't for the life of me get hopper legs to point the way I want. Any tips?

Any comments greatfully received

Cheers Scratch,

The streams comment was very tongue in cheek, we all know that catching a fighting fit rainbow from the unseen depths of Chew is much harder than a titchy little browny that you can see hiding under some nettles in a stream - you even have to train the 'bows that they can eat things other than pellets

The legs shooting off at angles was just winding me up. Will try wetting the legs (said the actress to the bishop )

Steve

They look good to me .

I am having an issue with legs also When I tie them in they spring out to the side , I have tried tying them in at different stages of the build but still doing the same ??? I have sacked it as a bad job for tonight as was really winding me up ( I will find my bobbin holder in the morning )

Thanks Scratch, a bit of spit on the legs works a treat!

Rob, have you not got a pic of one of your hoppers you sent? Lovely legs on em.

Nice tying steve by the way. I can see the bow-waves already.
