Default Sean's Duckfly

This is a fly pattern that was given to me nearly 4 years ago by a very good friend of mine, some of you may know him as seanie on here. This fly has caught hundreds of trout for me since he gave it to and has become a permanent fixture on my cast when ever I fish Killarney up to the end of May.

Hook - Kamasan 10 -14
Thread - Black Uni
Butt - Orange Glo Brite
Tail - Tippet dyed red
Body - Tying Thread
Hackle - Black Hen
Wing - Mallard

all the best,

Excellent fly Derek, thanks for sharing and well tied Seanie. I'll have to tie a few of them up for next time I'm in Killarney.

You're not wrong, it's caught at various times throughout the season, it's one of those flies that has a 'go to' feel to it for me, especially when the I've thrown almost everything else at 'em. It works well on rivers in the smaller sizes early season also, especially when there's a bit of colour.
