Default neck capes?? looking for help.

i have just started tying and have managed to amass a fair bit of kit over the last couple of months. i am now looking to start tying dry flies and need to buy a couple of half decent neck capes. i will be tying flies no smaller than size 18. i really have no idea as to what to look for or who to buy from. any info will be welcome. cheers jon mcmillan.

Give Phil (spiderplus) a bell he should be able to sort you out.

I happen to like and own a couple of the Genetic Dry Fly capes and Red-X capes from Lakeland Fly Tying, priced at £30 each and they are very very good. I have also used David Rice capes which are reasonable cheap at around £15 to £20. I bought my from Grafham and Rutland Lodges and Glasgow angling used to sell them. Any of these capes are a high enough quality to last you through your fly tying career.

Left to right (bottom); Cookshill Genetic cape Grizzly, David Rice Silver Badger, David Rice Med Dun (one of my favourite capes) David Rice Light Dun

David Rice ceased trading some time ago, the capes he sold were U.S. imports so it may be possible to source them elsewhere unless you can fond someone with some of his stock.
