Default Microcellular/polycelon/closed foam

Hi all

See lots of references to the above in fly reciped, there are a few patterns id like to try such as balloon caddis, beetles etc, do these all describe the same type of foam or are they diferrnt? Where is the best place to get them from? Are there any freely available/cheap substitutes designed for household or other applications?

Thanks

'C'
If you look at my recent thread - L'ombra Dun - you will see a body made of foam. This is the 2mm stuff.
Now Niche products have it and so do Crystal River, but tyey are small and costly.
I got mine from a craft shop and it measures 24" square for less than £3.
Try tat as a first stop. You will find it in a variety of colours.

I have pickup several sheets just slightly larger than A 4 size from Range Wharehouse, 49p per sheet and plenty of colours to choose from. Most Craft Hobby shops will have them, some call it Funky Foam.

Default fab foam

if using this foam don't go near it with a cauterise pen its very very flam-able
i spent 10 min tying a may fly only to have it burst in to flames when tidying up the head

Thanks for the links - I've been too lazy to really make the effort to track down some foam. Have ordered!
