Default I dont know what came over me...

As some of you will know i am a river angler, 99% of my fishing happens on chalkstreams where they can be a bit fussy over what you tie on your tippet

so you can imagine my surprise when i sat at this happened...

be gentle with me its my first time

Well I would call ita French Partridge Mayfly, which would probably get your sorry butt banned from most those 'sacred' hollows around your way.
you will probably tell me thats not french partridge and make me look a right wazzock!
I personally think its rather nice and think it symptomatic at spending too long on the forum looking at the offerings from our Irish brothers, and Saint Scratch of the dabblers.
A good long session of Houghton Rubies and Leckford Proffesors, should put you right.... should the problem persist you may need a regular dose of Tupps Indespensible.

You are right WP it is French partridge, if i thought i would get there i would jump in the car and head to the Itchen right away, i will have to go and tie a dozen quill gordons as penance for my deviant ways

Hi Icky,

It's a nic tie, if I had one suggestion I would suggest that you include a head hackle behind the FP. Nice tie.
