Default Elliot's Pheasant

My mate at work was shooting the last couple of days in Perth.
He shot this Pheasant with his last shot on the last drive of the day.
It is the best and biggest Pheasant i have ever seen.
I am told it is called a Elliot's Pheasant from China.
He is thinking of getting it stuffed but i have told him it would make better flies and that i would give it a good home.

What do you guys think?

Cheers

Munro

WELL IF I WAS ON A SHOOT AND HITTING HIGH BIRDS IT WOULD BE 4 s WITH INTERCHANGABLE CHOKES.

NOT SURE IF THAT BIRD IS A ELLIOTS,
ITS DEFFO ASIAN PHEASANT, CHINESE OR JAPENESE,
BEAUTIFUL MARKINGS
GREAT LONG CENTRE TAILS

Not may shooters use 4s. mostly 5s and even a 6
But like you said these are high birds, possibly one of the highest drives in the UK.
I was not sure about it being a Elliots either but thats what the keepers told him and after all they bought them.

After googling it, i would say it is a Elliots pheasant of some mutation.

Nice bird, i shall get the feathers some how.

Spot on, It is a Reeves pheasant. I think I would get it stuffed, its unusual to get those. You would see ring necks stuffed all over the place, not so many of those.

I think you are correct with that one.
I just googled it and it does look more like a Reeves than a Elliot's

Cheers
