I've used a standard C & F bobbin for several years now Davy & can highly recommend them !! I can't vouch for any of the other tools in their range though mate . . . . .

Happy tying

Back to your original question, i would recommend the midge if you tye in the smaller patterns and also like to get the tip of the bobbin holder tight into the fly and in awkward places when your tying. I like to use spiperweb a lot, but mine has never posed any problems when using heavier threads such as pearsalls silks for spiders, etc, so cant really see the benefit of going larger and loosing the accuracy.

Don't get the 3 in 1 bobbin holder from C&K - it's a touch clunky to use for the outside threads. The rest of the C&F stuff is good.

Default c&f bobbin holder

Hi

Ihave several of the C&F bobbin holders but to be honest I prefer the Tiemco bobbin holder in either the standard or midge. THey are also about £5.00 cheaper. They can be adjusted for tension much easier than the C&F. But you pays your money you take your chances

I`ll vouch for the Tiemco bobbin holders Ive tried a few before settling for these great for getting in close to the fly for accuraccy and I agree with papa smurf with the easy adjustment good luck with your choice
