I've been tying a few cruncher variants, I would be interested to see variants that have proved successful for anyone.

Nice patterns mate,

My favorite JC cruncher always has a place near the top of my buzzer cast.

Jungle Cock Cruncher

Click the image to open in full size.
  • Hook: Size 12 B175 or similar
  • Tail: Jungle Cock Fibres dyed Golden Yellow
  • Body: Pheasant Tail Fibres
  • Rib: Fine silver wire
  • Thorax: Peacock Herl
  • Hackle: Jungle Cock dyed Golden Yellow(remaining part of eye feather)
  • Cheeks: Jungle Cock dyed Golden Yellow

Picric Cruncher

  • Hook: Size 12 B175 or similar
  • Tail: Picric dyed cock feather
  • Body: Picric Hen Pheasant Tail Fibres
  • Rib: Fine silver wire
  • Thorax: Sunburst Peacock Herl
  • Hackle: Picric Furnace Hen
  • Cheeks: Jungle Cock dyed Golden Yellow

I have a couple of others that caught a few fish last year that I'll try and photo.

I've posted this one before, it's a bit over dressed and the hackle is a bit long, but it's been my best cruncher of the year.
