Default minky/zonker

Rattled this one up after I found some pearl mylar lurking in my box.
Hope you like it, think it should work, what do you think?

Why not...was at a fishery and watched rainbows chasing eels with brother....so he went home and tied some green rabbit ones about 4 or 5 inches long, he managed to catch 2 and loads of chases and tail nips.

Longer tail got caught in hook a few times though.

Nicely done. I particularly like the "thorax" bit. I'd have that in my box, though I too, would prefer to have mine with the tail a bit shorter, but whatever floats your boat.

Is it a minkie or a zonker? I never did know what the difference was...

I think the difference with a "minkie" and a "zonker" is that the minkie is tied using mink strips/skin and the zonker uses Rabbit strips/skin.

If im wrong im sure somebody will put me right?

Kieron

p.s Nice tye!

Nice, I like the look of that. How do you achieve the woven body on these?

the body is a material called mylar tube which you can buy in various sizes. some is hollow and others have cord in them which you just pull out when using the mylar.

i believe to build the body shape you can do this various ways. using an under body of thread or you cut the mylar slightly longer than needed and then slide it back to create the shape.
