Default Last season

Have been thinking about last season on my club loch and one thing that sticks out was the huge increase of sedges on the loch.
Normally you are fishing buzzers or dark loch style tactics from bank and boat.
Last year there were some huge hatches of sedge in the evening.
Basically I was quite unprepared for this with having only a few dry sedge patterns and no pupa patterns to speak of in my box.
I tried using some basic sedge patterns more often fished on rivers but no real sucsess.
I believed I missed out on a good few chances last year and want to be prepared next year.
Has anyone got a wee special sedge pattern they would like to share

Thanks in advance,
Graham

This is one that I've been tying recently. The Voljc-Moser dry caddis from OE's Masterclass. I just used some pheasant feather for the wing as I had it lying around but you can select feathers to match the hatch.

Thats worth a try, similair in colour to one of the species that was hatching.
Need a good pupa imitation now

What about the good old invicta, not the most up to date pattern but a very good fly when sedges are hatching on stillwater.

For rivers I like this one (I suppose it would work as well on stillwater but have never tried it), just a shaggy hare's ear nymph over pearl tinsel to give the illusion of air bubbles.

Was thinking of trying a pupa or two behind and beneath a dry pattern and very slowly inching it in?

What do you think?
