Brilliant looking fly, love the strong segmentation and profile.
Dave can i ask another of my daft questions?
Where i Czech nymph (not very often i best add) there is no chance a pattern like that would get near bottom, simply not enough weight in it.
So the question is do you fish in shallower water or do you use a sacrificial "bomb" to get the flies down and fish these better looking patterns on the droppers?
When i am home, i will stick some snaps of the beasts i have to use to get near the fish and they aint pretty.....
Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Mark: To be fair, two (or sometimes three) layers of lead is plenty for the rivers I fish. Three flies on a shortish leader works easily.

I know that there are some places where these simply would be in estuarine waters long before they saw the bottom of the river

The sacrificial fly is an option - plenty of underlead, tungsten bead(s) and copper over will do it. But... and I know this may get frowned upon... I also carry a shot dispenser. It rarely comes to to use but it can be useful for these very situations. An SSG packs alot of weight. there we go I've said it... now off to hide

Nice one! Is it me or does the Argentinian hare have a pinkish hue? Never seen that material before....

I think that is a little camera trickery - possibly light spilling from the holographic shell-back. Fairly mottled browns in real life.

Try Phil at the FTB for Arhentinian Hare. Nice stuff:
Flytying Boutique - for unusual and interesting materials

Personally Dave I would darken the 3 segments closest to the eye and use a darker material for the thorax BUT I have to say.................Oh yes, Oh yes, Oh yes.

That is an excellent Czech nymph - perfect profile and superb segmentation. It's the best that I've seen in a long time
