Default Black Labrador retriever

I have noticed that my 1 year old Lab doesn't think twice about jumping in the local creek, even with snow falling. She seldom passes by a puddle of water without a running start and a slide, always taking the path that maximizes how wet she gets, and how dirty she gets. She never seems to be uncomfortable, even when I am wet and freezing.

Is there something out of the ordinary about Labrador hair that can be utilized in a fly?

Perhaps if you strapped a couple of trebles to the dog's back it would make a passable pike fly?

As far as im aware dog hair ,, in gun type dogs anyway is hollow ,, thats why they never feel the cold.

i tried using his hair for tying ,, it goes brittle after its been cut ,, thou as above post mentioned wing for corms

I had a black lab a few years ago and couldnt keep him out of the water or mud. but thats what they love

labs generally settle down when they are about 5 or 6.

The collie dog salmon fly was first tied using the feathery hair on the foreleg of a collie.

Wasn't the lemony coloured body of a tups indispensable (sp?) originally from the inventor's spaniel?

Just posting that for general interest - nowhere like an answer to your question!
