Whats this material used for ?

and can any1 post a few flies tied with it

Ali,

Mainly used for Buzzer Cheeks, and Daddy Bodies, although I did see a shell back-esque nymph on here not too long ago.

And probably the most famous raffia cheeked buzzer is Midlanders Electro Buzzer.

Raffia is used on bodies of Mayflies & daddy longlegs. I also use it for buzzers

I use it on Headley's wet daddy dampen it before wrapping it on the body helps ti keep it tight a great fly for wild browns in a big wave

Can be used for sedge wings, stiffened with Floo Gloo... Ollie Edwards uses it in his Popa Caddis

I really like Raffine / Raffia, but it seems to be very out of favour with many tiers. Here are a few examples where I have used it:

For shell backs:

I use it as a shellback on coch y bonddu beetle patterns. One of the best examples I've ever seen is by Gwilym Hughes (scroll down the page a little bit):
