Default grannom caddis

my favorit caddis is grannom...this is one of many variations i have made

materials:
hook:gamakatsu f11-2sh,size 12
body:icedub green than duck quill(mallard ,wing quill)
wing:CDC
thorax:hares ear

Nice ties, on an aside I have never had much use for the natural Grannom or Greentail as it is better known here. I find that the Trout here do not have a great liking for it or at least my version of it. It is the earliest of the Sedges & I have seen good hatches in Spring but have struggled when using a floating version when this happens. Others mileage may vary but a useful pattern to have in ones box never the less. I will certainly try out these two offerings when the occasion arises. Overall impression of this fly is pale grey.

This is my oldest version

size-12-10
but-green silk
rib-brown hackle and golden wire
body-hares ears dubed with yellow thread
wings-snipe(scolopax rusticola)

Very good my friend.
Would work a treat in rough water.A bit similar to some of the Elk Hair series.
