Looks like the bulb/flash colour may be causing the yellowish look, also if you have it put the camera setting to "cool" if available. Failing that take a pic as close to a window as possible during the day and let the natural light do the rest.

It looks as though they've been taken under a strong tungsten light. Even if you use flash, a close tungsten spot lamp will still give a strong orange tint to the shot. Try again in daylight at a window.

Yer white balance is wrong Barry. The camera maybe set for daylight, but you're lighting the fly with electric lighting - halogen, tungsten, flourescent, whatever, the light they give off are all different - your camera needs to know to be able to avoid that colour cast. You should be able to alter it in yer camera settings... should give you a few options, try going through them until whites look white and other colours more natural. Also, yer lighting looks like a single source, and too harsh. Try two lamps Barry. Mess around with the angles and distance until you get it right. Time is all you need mate, not a brain... how do you think I manage?

Yep scratch nailed it, white balance needs to be adjusted ,

dont forget you can bounce or reflect light back onto your fly which will or can lighten up the profile of the fly,,

i think the likes of scratch, gerry and ben have nailed the art of fly pics,,
