Default HMH Standard

Hi all,
where can i buy this from :Black Standard Pedestal Base Kit . I bought the vice and clamp about three years ago at one of the fly tying shows up at Stoke. I think the stand was Glasgow Angling.I've e-mailed HMH direct for a U.K. supplier but haven't had a reply.Cheers.

I think you're spoiled for choice when it comes to buying an HMH standard vise in the U.K. Off the top of my head I'd say either Sportfish, Flytek or Lakeland Fly tying, but I'd surf the 'net to find the best price, look to spend approx £190-£200 . .
Happy hunting 'Learner'
p.s. the HMH Spartan's worth looking at, well made and about £150 . . .

I haven't seen the bases for the HMH vices seperately but a lot of vices have the same thickness of stem so if you try Nigel at Lakeland he may be able to help as he sells a couple of different bases which may do the trick.

dabhoy,i've got the Sparton vice which has a long shaft (9").This is fine with a clamp but too long with a base. The HMH standard base kit comes with a 6" shaft. As the shafts are machined to fit the vice i don't want to cut the 9" shaft down to fit a base but would prefer to buy the base kit.The other option would be to have a shaft machined to fit the vice and buy a bog standard base as you suggested.
cheers Dave.
