Default Go Go hamster??!!

Well, I've been messing around making sculpin patterns now that I've at last got OE's streamer fishing. Last year I tied quite a few tube flies on the variation of Steve Thorntons Baptiser but with a spun deer hair head to get the broad head profile, unfortunately as we know deer hair floats! So with this I normally put a size AAA or BB shot weight, this does create a nice undulating swimming pattern but it is a nightmare to cast on a 8' 6" 4# rod.

Not sure why I've never used sculpin wool before, so this winter with inspiration from OE's waggy tail sculpin and especially with the success I had with scuplin patterns last year I had a go with it. Ive had good results but whilst I was messing around trying to get a light underside with some barring on the top I discovered i likeness to the Go Go hamster.

So I thought what the hell, add some eyes, ears and a tail!!

Da Daahh!!!

So now my mission is to catch something on this in 2010.
And he's one sculpin, but they'll get better and I'll post the final result.

You will laugh more when sometime next year I'll bring this thread back with with a picture of a fish with this hanging out of its gob. Most likely a pike.

That is fantastic, I just showed this to my little girl and she loved it.

Please, please, pretty please with a cherry on top. If you have time could you do a step by step. I would love to attempt this with my girl helping.

It's the same as using deer hair except that you don't spin the wool, make sure the thread is anchored, I use Moser powersilk 5/0 and superglue the thread as well as every new bunch of wool. Trim to shape. It just happened that this mess around happened to look like a hamster hence why I decided to finish it off properly.
