Default Mallard feathers

More dead birds today,
I have 6 Mallard ducks, male and female.
What feathers should I remove before cleaning the birds.
I have already removed the CDC and I am planning on removing the wings.
On saying that if anyone needs a pair of wings let me know.
I have also got pheasants if anyone needs tails.

Cheers

Munro

Both sets of wings on the woodcock and snipe are well worth keeping. If you dont want them send them to me

I've been getting a few birds recently too and once I have taken off the standard feathers/parts I have a good look for what else I can use. The scalp often seems to have some nice wee feathers for small spiders?

As far as bronze mallard goes dont forget about the breast feathers for roll over mays, neck feathers for welshmans buttons, flank feathers for mays and of course the bronze feathers on his back. Deadly spider feathers on the mallard wings. Only found that out recently

I have been messing with wood cock breast feather dyed in dabblers and bumbles a far better alternative for blue jay than guinne (sp) fowl and has shed loads of movement, they are like a hen hackle only barred. The wood cock tail makes a nice varient wing on the green peter or wet sedge patterns but they are a bug*er to skin they rip very easily
