Jonny, havent seen the other, but how do you get the CDC wing in that position etc ? Nice fly - cant see it lasting too long, although i would still use one.

thanks spider have you seen buzz's video of the split thread hackle? If not I'll go find it and post it up here.

P.s. what is it that makes you think it won't last long? just the cdc?

I like it a lot, but if I was going to be piccy I would shorten the wing a tad by breaking the cdc between finger and thumb.

cheers thats the beauty of it- leave it long and customize it at the waters edge I reckon you could make this into an emerger or even a spinner pattern aswell...

I tye both the cdc hackle type as yours and the loop wing type and have found the latter to be more resilient especially in the smaller sizes. I agree with you regarding changing things at the waterside you have to be adaptable.
