afternoon all. im eager to get started on fly tying and was on here to ask some advice. have seen the regent vice and it seems a pretty good 1 to start with( not the clamp 1, the 1 with the base) but i need some more pointers such as tools to buy and materials. im only really interested in tying buzzers, crunchers, ptns, diawl bachs, blobs, cormorants, boobies and other small luers for competitions.

could any 1 give me a starters list or something of the sort.

cheers - martin

Hi Martin

If you send me your address i will put together a little pack of materials that will help you out.

As for tools a simple cheap and cheerful bobbin holder metal or ceramic tube will do, a pair of sharp scissors and nail varnish or Veniard cellire varnish ( they do the same job basically ).
but i believe the nail varnish gives a glossy look when dry.
and a pair of hackle pliers. i dont use any of the fancy expensive brand name items so i cant comment on any make.
