Antron can be used for dries if it's well ginked-up but is designed, I believe, for wets and nymphs.

Polypropylene floating yarn is suitable for dries and I even prefer to use it on suspender buzzers instead of CDC.

Antron is designed as a carpet yarn manufactured by DuPont however in fly tying terms it is mostly used for wings, parachute posts etc also as a dubbing.

Different material - don't think I'd like a jumber knitted from carpet yarn! Antron is a wholly artificial fibre and wool is ... well wool - there's an element of sheep about it!

Antron dubbing is quite popular, yet most people don't know it is Antron. Hareline makes Haretron and Trilobal, both Antron fibres.
It makes a fine dubbing for dries as well as wets.
