Default Barbless Hooks

Are TMC 103BL suitable for tying straight hook buzzers for stillwaters? If not, what BL hooks are suitable for I have looked at Tiemco & Grip hooks so far. Thanks in advance.

Macmagoo,

The TMC 103BL is a strong hook but a bit light in terms of weight if you want the pattern to get down to the fish if fishing in the winter. The 103 (and the lookalike 11011BL in the Grip range - better price) will sit in the surface rather than sink very fast.

Take a look at the Dohiku hooks - the 302 is a fairly heavy wired model with a straight shank - the Dohiku HDS hook in smaller sizes (10 and 12) is equally good in terms of weight of wire.

Kind regards
