If you mean can you boil ready dyed fritz to make the colour more washed out then I would say possibly slightly but mostly because by giving some dyed fritz a good bath you will lighten the colour anyway due to excess dye (depending on how well washed out the fritz is). Let us know the results anyway if you try it although I wouldn't build your hopes up too much
With regards to your cooking pan - I would say don't use it for cooking again!. Use an old/perished pan or mixing bowl or something as if theres any excess dye it will come out in the water in the pan and the pan even if its stainless steel and supposedly not pouros it will take some dye into its pores which could come out next time your boiling the spuds

Would agree with Sam on this one Arden, I should have said that you can't change the material density, or its translucency, but you can change its shade.
With regards to timing, I have 'boiled' some of Sams Sunburst Orange, (Sorry Sam)

, for 3mins, and turned a nice 'washed out' shade
....(Not that it was overdyed, or wasn't washed within an inch of its life mind, Just fancied an experiment)Sometimes, it can make a difference from fish following your blob, or blob booby into a "take".....
