Tied a few up tonight whilst the footy was on;

Fiery Brown

superb,,,what type of hackle is that and how do you get the finish on the buzzer also,
im trying to learn how to do the dabblers and stuff but doing ma head in,,,think i better just buy them,,,,

Edd7, The dressing for the dabbler is;
Hook - B170 #12
Thread - UTC 70 Wine
Rib - UTC Fire Orange (Brassie as tied, but Small would be better)
Body - Fiery brown and Orange seals fur blend
Hackle - Fiery brown saddle
Wing - Autumn brown bronze mallard

The finish on the buzzer is just hard as nails (3 or 4 coats). Don't give up on dabblers, they are very tricky ties, I get 1 in 3 about right and even then they are rubbish compared to lots of the ones on here.

It is cracking mallard, Autumn Brown from Artifly. Stunning colour in the flesh.

"looks very shrimpy" I was thinking sedge when I tied it, pull across the top during a hatch it could be fun.
